The complex amplitude whose modulus squared gives measurement probabilities in the chosen representation.

Carries the state. The left side says how $\Psi$ changes in time; the right side applies the Hamiltonian to that same $\Psi$.

$\Psi$ appears on both sides: the Hamiltonian acts on the current state to produce its instantaneous rate of change.
